Privacy policy

The short version

You can look up facilities, compare them, and print every checklist on this site without telling us who you are. We collect information in exactly three places, each of which you choose: signing up for inspection-report alerts, sending a placement help note, or sending a legal question. We never sell or share information beyond what each form discloses, and we never contact anyone who has not asked us to.

What we collect automatically

Almost nothing. We count page-level events, such as how many times the touring checklist was printed, without recording anything about who did them: no advertising trackers, no cross-site cookies, no profiles. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs for security, as all websites' hosts do.

If you sign up for inspection alerts

We record your email address, the facilities you chose, and the consent text you saw. We email you only when a new state inspection or investigation report is posted for those facilities. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe, and if you have previously asked the Buddy network never to email you, we honor that and do not send.

If you ask for placement help

Nothing is sent until you press the send button, and the form asks how care would be paid for before asking anything about you. When Medicaid may pay for care, we take no information at all and show free public resources instead; that rule exists because of federal law and it is enforced in the site's code. A private-pay note is held for manual review and may be shared with one placement professional, exactly as the consent text on the form says. You can ask for it to be deleted at any time by emailing daniel.c.swenson@gmail.com.

If you send a legal question

What you submit goes to Dan Swenson at Robert Wilson & Associates so it can be answered, along with the consent text you saw when you sent it. It is kept confidentially, used for no other purpose, and never sold or shared. You can ask for your note to be deleted at any time by emailing daniel.c.swenson@gmail.com.

What we never do

• We never sell, rent, or share personal information beyond what each form discloses before you send it.
• We never run advertising or advertising trackers.
• We never accept payment from any facility, and no facility can pay to change how its record appears.
• We never forward an inquiry where Medicaid may pay for care; those receive free public resources only.
